PRINTER BUiLDS UPON CUTTING-EDGE POSITION AS IT PUSHES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
IN THE PRINTING INDUSTRY
DERRY, NH (September 14, 2007) - For printing customers of Vermillion, it's easier
to be green. The company, a leader in eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable
printing practices, has just been awarded certification by the international Forestry
Stewardship Council, a worldwide organization focused on promoting responsible stewardship
of the world's forests.
The certification recognizes Vermillion as a company that maintains a caring chain
of custody that begins at the paper mill and ends with final delivery, ensuring
that printed materials meet FSC standards. As a result, Vermillion's clients are
able to publicize their cooperation in protecting the forests by placing Vermillion's
Forestry Stewardship Council label on printed pieces.
"This was a rigorous voluntary program that we sought out," said company president
Bob Stuart, "It.s another important step that reflects our passion
for protecting the planet - and for educating our customers on how to do so." Stuart
emphasizes that Vermillion was pursuing its own policy of corporate social responsibility
long before the term became popular in corporate America. The company participates
in philanthropic causes, has a rigorous in-house recycling program, focuses on energy
reduction in all phases of its business, and is an expert in eco-friendly printing
with recycled papers and vegetable based inks.
